Pictures of flowers from this hike
I don't guarantee I have these classified correctly. If you find a
mistake, please let me know.
I did the identifications from: A Field Guide to Wildflowers of
the Rocky Mountains. By Carl Schreier. Copyright 1996.
Homestead Publishing, Moose, WY
I think this is "Bush Penstemon" (Penstemon
fruticosus)
"Alpine Smelowskia"
(Smelowskia calycina)
Skunk Polemonium (Polemonium
viscosum)
Alpine Forget-Me-Not (Eritrichium
nanum)
My favorite of the high
tundra flowers.
Cliff Anemone (Anemone
multifda)
Silky Phacelia (Phacelia sericea)
Upland Larkspur (Delphinium
nuttallianum)
although it could also be
Little Larkspur (Delphinium bicolor)
I have not found that my Canon D30 has ever done a good job capturing
the color. It is really a dark purple. Perhaps next year when I upgrade
my camera I will do better.
Scarlet Gilia (Gilia aggregata)
