Crackle Top Ginger Cookies
I got this recipe from Grandma's Molasses
Ingredients
- 3/4 Cup Unsalted Butter
- 3/4 Cup Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Unsulphured Molasses
- 1 Extra Large Egg
- 11 3/4 oz Unbleached Flour
- 2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Ground Cloves
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Ground Ginger
- 2 Tbsp Water
- Granulated Sugar
Directions
This is for high altitude
Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add molasses and egg.
Fold in flour, baking soda, salt and spices. Mix well
Place in freezer for 1 hour or chill in refrigerator
From into approximately 1-inch balls and roll in granulated sugar
Bake on lightly greased baking sheet in 365 degree oven for 10 to
12 minutes
