Galapagos Day 3 – Part 3

Afternoon at Rabida Island

The afternoon found us coming ashore again at Rabida Island this time for a sunset walk.  Much more successful than snorkeling.  The beach at Rabida is a red sand beach reflecting a high iron content in the volcanic material that makes up the island.

Wildlife, especially birds, was again present in abundance.  We saw flamingos in a lagoon set back from the beach, Mockingbirds, pelicans Oyster Catchers and Marine Iguana at Rabida Island.

And, as always, there were sea lions.
